Let It Rise

Let the glory of the Lord
Rise among us
Let the glory of the Lord
Rise among us
Let the praises of the King
Rise among us let it rise

Let the songs of the Lord
Rise among us
Let the songs of the Lord
Rise among us
Let the joy of the King
Rise among us let it rise

  O let it rise
  O let it rise

Psalm 19

1 The heavens declare the glory of God,

and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

2 Day to day pours out speech,

and night to night reveals knowledge.

3 There is no speech, nor are there words,
    whose voice is not heard.

4 Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.

In them he has set a tent for the sun,

5   which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his
  chamber,

and, like a strong man, runs it course with joy.

6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
and its circuit to the end of them,

and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

Heaven Came Down

O what a wonderful wonderful day

Day I will never forget

After I'd wandered in darkness away

Jesus my Savior I met

O what a tender compassionate friend

He met the need of my heart

Shadows dispelling with joy I am telling

He made all the darkness depart

Heaven came down and glory filled my soul

When at the cross the Savior made me whole

My sins were washed away and my night was turned to day

Heaven came down and glory filled my soul

Born of the Spirit with life from above

Into God's fam'ly divine

Justified fully thru Calvary's love

O what a standing is mine

And the transaction so quickly was made

When as a sinner I came

Took of the offer of grace

He did proffer

He saved me O praise his dear name

   Chorus

Your Mercy

You're a friend a friend to the broken

You are strong when I am weak

You show grace embrace the humble

And you're showing grace to me

And your mercy always lifts me

When I falter when I turn away

It's your kindness coming for me

Here I stand Lord have your way

And now I stand I stand in your presence

And ev'ry sin is washed away

There is hope hope for tomorrow

And I am free to start again

   Chorus

Jesus, Lover of My Soul

Jesus lover of my soul

Jesus I will never let you go

You've taken me from the miry clay

You've set my feet upon the rock and now I know

I love you I need you

   Though my world may fall

   I'll never let you go

   My Savior my closest friend

I will worship you until the very end

Building a Bedrock Life
Steve Gilbertson
Matthew 7:24-29

As we conclude our journey through the Sermon on the Mount,
we, like Jesus' first listeners are "astonished at his teaching."
As his closing illustration indicates, however, Jesus didn't
teach merely to impress or astonish: he taught to change our
behavior. Hearing truth is one thing; doing it is another. Doing
what Jesus says is the key to building a bedrock life.

24 "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does
them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew
and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been
founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words
of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who
built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods
came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it
fell, and great was the fall of it."

28 And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished
at his teaching, 29 for he was teaching them as one who had authority,
and not as their scribes.
