ecclesia song

We are called to faith, gathered in love
Sent with hope to change the world
We are called to faith, gathered in love
ecclesia, ecclesia, Church at the Chip

Called to Faith, Gathered in Love,
   Sent with Hope – ecclesia!

Psalm 26

1 Vindicate me, O Lord,
for I have walked in my integrity,
and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.
2 Prove me, O Lord, and try me;
test my heart and my mind.
3 For your steadfast love is before my eyes,
and I walk in your faithfulness.

4 I do not sit with men of falsehood,
nor do I consort with hypocrites.
5 I hate the assembly of evildoers,
and I will not sit with the wicked.

6 I wash my hands in innocence
and go around your altar, O Lord,
7 proclaiming thanksgiving aloud,
and telling all your wondrous deeds.

8 O Lord, I love the habitation of your house
and the place where your glory dwells.
9 Do not sweep my soul away with sinners,
nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
10 in whose hands are evil devices,
and whose right hands are full of bribes.

11 But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity;
redeem me, and be gracious to me.
12 My foot stands on level ground;
in the great assembly I will bless the Lord.

Come People of the Risen King

Come, people of the risen King
Who delight to bring him praise
Come all and tune your hearts to sing
To the morning star of grace
From the shifting shadows of the earth
We will lift our eyes to him
Where steady arms of mercy reach
To gather children in

   Rejoice, rejoice
   Let every tongue rejoice
   One heart, one voice
   Church at the Chip, rejoice!

Come those whose joy is morning sun
And those weeping through the night
Come those who tell of battles won
And those struggling in the fight
For his perfect love will never change
And his mercies never cease
But follow us through all our days
With the certain hope of peace

   Chorus

Come, young and old from every land
Men and women of the faith
Come those with full or empty hands
Find the riches of his grace
Over all the world his people sing
Shore to shore we hear them call
The truth that cries through every age
Our God is all in all

   Chorus

I Will Follow

When the sea is calm and all is right
When I feel your favor flood my life
Even in the good, I'll follow you
Even in the good, I'll follow you
When the boat is tossed upon the waves
When I wonder if you'll keep me safe
Even in the storms, I'll follow you
Even in the storms, I'll follow you

I believe everything that you say you are
I believe that I have seen your unchanging heart
In the good things and in the hardest part
I believe and I will follow you
I believe and I will follow you

When I see the wicked prospering
When I feel I have no voice to sing
Even in the want, I'll follow you
Even in the want, I'll follow you

   Chorus

When I find myself so far from home
And you lead me somewhere I don't wanna go
Even in my death, I'll follow you
Even in my death, I'll follow you
When I come to end this race I've run
And I receive the prize that Christ has won
I will be with you in paradise
I will be with you in paradise

   Chorus (2x)

Abide with Me

I have a home, eternal home
But for now I walk this broken world
You walked it first, you know our pain
But you show hope can rise again up from the grave

Abide with me, abide with me
Don't let me fall, and don't let go
Walk with me and never leave
   * Ever close, God abide with me (repeat last time)

There in the night, Gethsemane
Before the cross, before the nails
Overwhelmed, alone you prayed
You met us in our suffering and bore our shame

   Chorus

Oh love that will not ever let me go
Love that will not ever let me go
You never let me go
Love that will not ever let me go

And up ahead, eternity
We'll weep no more and sing for joy, abide with me
We'll weep no more and sing for joy, abide with me

   Chorus

Laborers in the Harvest
Steve Gilbertson
Matthew 10:5-25

Last week we learned that Jesus sent out his followers to be "laborers
in his harvest." Every generation of believers since that time has the
same commission: to be living witnesses to the message and the reality
of God's kingdom. In today's text, we learn some of the important
principles to help us be faithful to Jesus' mission and ministry.

5 These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, "Go nowhere among the
Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, 6 but go rather to the lost sheep
of the house of Israel. 7 And proclaim as you go, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven
is at hand.' 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You
received without paying; give without pay. 9 Acquire no gold or silver or copper
for
your belts, 10 no bag for your journey, or two tunics or sandals or a staff, for
the
laborer deserves his food. 11 And whatever town or village you enter, find out
who is
worthy in it and stay there until you depart. 12 As you enter the house, greet
it.
13 And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy,
let your peace return to you. 14 And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your
words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. 15 Truly,
I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom
and Gomorrah than for that town.

16 "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as
serpents and innocent as doves. 17 Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to
courts and flog you in their synagogues, 18 and you will be dragged before governors
and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. 19 When they
deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for
what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. 20 For it is not you who speak,
but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. 21 Brother will deliver brother
over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and
have them put to death, 22 and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the
one who endures to the end will be saved. 23 When they persecute you in one town,
flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns
of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

24 "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough
for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have
called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of
his household.
