Rise among us
Let the glory of the Lord
Rise among us
Let the praises of the King
Rise among us let it rise

Let the songs of the Lord
Rise among us
Let the songs of the Lord
Rise among us
Let the joy of the King
Rise among us let it rise

(Repeat)

   O let it rise
   O let it rise

(Repeat verses 1 and 2)

  Chorus (2x)

Psalm 27:1-8

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;
      whom shall I fear?
   The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When evildoers assail me
    to eat up my flesh,
   my adversaries and foes,
it is they who stumble and fall.

3 Though an army encamp against me,
      my heart shall not fear;
   though war arise against me,
      yet I will be confident.

4 One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.

5 For he will hide me in his shelter
     in the day of trouble;

   he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will lift me high upon a rock.

6 And now my head shall be lifted up
above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
      sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.

7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
be gracious to me and answer me!
8 You have said, "Seek my face."
   My heart says to you,
"Your face, Lord, do I seek."

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer
O what peace we often forfeit
O what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations
Is there trouble anywhere
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Are we weak and heavy laden
Cumbered with a load of care
Precious Savior still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do thy friends despise forsake thee
Take it to the Lord in prayer
In his arms he'll take and shield thee
Thou wilt find a solace there

Blessed Savior thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever Lord be bringing
All to thee in earnest prayer
Soon in glory bright unclouded
There will be no need for prayer
Rapture praise and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there

This is Amazing Grace

Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of glory
The King above all kings

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of glory
The King above all kings

   This is amazing grace
   This is unfailing love
That you would take my place
That you would bear my cross
   You laid  down your life
That I would be set free
   Oh Jesus I sing for
All that you've done for me

Who brings our chaos back into order
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter
The King of glory
The King of glory

Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance
The King of glory
The King above all kings

   Chorus

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
(Repeat 2x)
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain

   Chorus

What Can I Bring

This is my song to you
A melody of thanks for you
An expression of wonder
At your beauty and your splendor
No other cry have I
Than to know you more and lift you high
Oh God of infinite glory
Above all you are worthy

What can I bring to you
   Simply a song of love
   And boundless gratitude
   My whole life for you
   You've rescued me from death
   Given me your kingdom
And blessed me with your love
   Countless mercies from above

This is my song to you
A melody of thanks for you
An expression of wonder
At your beauty and your splendor
No other cry have I
Than to know you more and lift you high
Oh God of infinite glory
Above all you are worthy

Had I riches I would bring them
Had I kingdoms I would lose them
Had I the world too small a gift would it be
My love for you
What can I bring to you
Simply a song of love
And boundless gratitude
My whole life for you

Laborers in the Harvest
Steve Gilbertson
Matthew 10:24-42

Today we conclude the second main block of teaching in Matthew (the first
was the Sermon on the Mount). In this section Jesus sends out his followers --
in that day, and in each generation since -- to continue "kingdom of God"
work on his behalf. It is a thrilling assignment, but a daunting task. We might
fear the challenge or the potential persection, but Jesus offers his followers
the most common command found in the Bible. What is it? "Do not be afraid."

24 "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough
for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have
called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of
his household.

26 "So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden
that will not be known. 27 What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you
hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. 28 And do not fear those who kill the body
but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground
apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear
not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. 32 So everyone who
acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven,
33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

34 "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring
peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter
against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 And a person's
enemies will be those of his own household. 37 Whoever loves father or mother more than
me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of
me. 38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever
finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

40 "Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.
41 The one who receices a prophet because he is a prophet will receie a prophet's reward,
and the one who receives a righteous person because he is a righteous person will receive
a righteous person's reward. 42 And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold
water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward."
