Psalm 61

1    Hear my cry, O God,
        listen to my prayer;
2    from the end of the earth I call to you
         when my heart is faint.
      Lead me to the rock
         that is higher than I,
3    for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.

4    Let me dwell in your tent forever!
Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah

5    For you, O God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

6    Prolong the life of the king;
may his years endure to all generations!

7     May he be enthroned forever before God;
appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!

8    So will I ever sing praises to your name,
as I perform my vows day after day.

This I Know

Up on the mountain
Where your love captured me
Where finally I am free
This I know

Up on the mountain
Where you taught my soul to sing
Amazing grace, the sweetest thing
This I know

And then the storm rushing in
And here I am again this I know

Take me up to where I was
When I never wanted more thank you
Lift me up to feel your touch
It wouldn't be that much for you

   This I know
   This I know
   This I know
   This I know

Up on the mountain
Where you took me by the hand
Taught me to dance again
This I know

Up on the mountain
Where you took this heart of stone
Put life back in these bones
This I know

   Chorus

All Prayed Up

I'm all prayed up, I'm ready to meet my Savior
Eternal life is waitin' in the by and by
I'm all prayed up, my faith will never waiver
Heaven's doors gonna swing wide open when I die

I made my peace with Jesus a long, long time ago
I trusted him and he would save my soul
I walked up there beside him; he guides me on my way
I know he hears me when I kneel and pray

   Chorus

Now I ain't afraid of Satan, his wicked ways of sin
Well he temped me but he could not pull me in
When I've gone to live with Jesus, face my judgment day
He'll fulfill me for the promise that he made

   Chorus

The Lamb has Overcome

The Lamb has overcome
The Lamb has overcome
The battle's done
And the victory is won
For the Lamb has overcome

No grave could hold him down

No grave could hold him down
Up from the ground
"He is risen!" was the sound
No grave could hold him down

At God's right hand is he
At God's right hand is he
Our Perfect Plea
How he lives to intercede
At God's right hand is he

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Glory be unto his name (2x)

The table now is spread
The table now is spread
This wine and bread
Broken body and blood shed
The table now is spread

The day is drawing near
The day is drawing near
He shall appear
And will wipe away each tear
The day is drawing near

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Glory be unto his name (4x)

The Lamb has overcome
The Lamb has overcome
The battle's done
And the victory is won
For the Lamb has overcome

All Authority in Heaven and Earth
Ascension Sunday

Matthew 28:16-20
Steve Gilbertson

Sadly, Ascension Sunday is the most neglected holiday of the Christian year. The
result is a church which is either too heavenly-minded or too earthly-minded. But
a proper understanding of Jesus' ascension "to the right hand of the Father"
removes the dualistic divide between heaven and erth, unlocks the blessings of
Jesus' ministry, and unleashes us as his representatives in fulfilling his ministry
on earth.

Matthew 28:16-20

1 Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene
and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake,
for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and
sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4 And for
fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. 5 But the angel said to the
women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not
here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly
and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you
to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you." 8 So they departed quickly from
the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 And behold, Jesus met
them and said, "Greetings!" And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped
him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to
Galilee, and there they will see me."

11 While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief
priests all that had taken place. 12 And when they had assembled with the elders and taken
counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers 13 and said, "Tell people, 'His
disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.' 14 And if this comes to the
governor's ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble." 15 So they took the money
and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed
them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus
came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go
therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
