Psalm 85

1   Lord, you were favorable to your land;
        you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
2   You forgave the iniquity of your people;
        you covered all their sin.       Selah
3   You withdrew all your wrath;
       you turned from your hot anger.

4   Restore us again, O God of our salvation,
       and put away your indignation toward us!

5   Will you be angry with us forever?
       Will you prolong your anger to all generations?
6   Will you not revive us again,
       that your people may rejoice in you?
7   Show us your steadfast love, O Lord,
       and grant us your salvation.

8   Let me hear what God the Lord will speak,
       for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints;
       but let them not turn back to folly.
9   Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,
       that glory may dwell in our land.

10  Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;
       righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11  Faithfulness springs up from the ground,
       and righteousness looks down from the sky.
12  Yes, the Lord will give what is good,
       and our land will yield its increase.
13  Righteousness will go before him
       and make his footsteps a way.

For He is Good (Psalm 118)

   For he is good, for he is good
   His steadfast love endures forever
   For he is good, for he is good
   His steadfast love endures forever

   O give thanks to the Lord (4x)

   Repeat Chorus

(Leader): Let all the women say
(Ladies): "His steadfast love endures forever!"
(Leader): Let all the men-folk say
(Men): "His steadfast love endures forever!"
(Leader): Let those who fear the Lord say
(All): "His steadfast love endures forever!"

   Repeat Chorus

His Mercy is More

What love could remember no wrongs we have done
Omniscient, all-knowing, he counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins, they are many, his mercy is more

   Praise the Lord!
   His mercy is more
   Stronger than darkness, new every morn
   Our sins, they are many, his mercy is more

What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father, so tender, is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor
Our sins, they are many, his mercy is more

   Chorus

What riches of kindness he lavished on us
His blood was the payment, his life was the cost
We stood 'neath the debt we could never afford
Our sins, they are many, his mercy is more

   Chorus (3x)

Oh How I Need You

Lord, I find you in the seeking
Lord, I find you in the doubt
And to know you is to love you
And to know so little else

   I need you, oh, how I need you
   Oh, how I need you, oh, how I need you
   (repeat all)

Lord, I find you in the morning
Lord, I seek you every day
Let my life be for your glory
Woven in your threads of grace

   Oh, how I need you, oh, how I need you
   Oh, how I need you, oh, how I need you

   Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh

Light, glorious light, I will go where you shine
Break the dawn, crack the skies
Make the way bright before me
In your light I will find
All I need, all I need is you
(repeat)

   Oh, how I need you, oh, how I need you
   Oh, how I need you, oh, how I need you

The Son which the Tenants Rejected
The World's True King: A Study in Matthew

Matthew 21:33-45
Steve Gilbertson

One of the tragedies of Jesus' ministry is that many of the people who were expecting
him, ended up rejecting him. How could this be so? In this, the second of three parables
with which Jesus challenges the religious leaders, we learn why. As we study it, let us
ask God to help us avoid the same mistake.

Matthew 21:33-46

33 "Hear another parable. There was a master of a house who planted a vineyard and put a
fence around it and dug a winepress in it and built a tower and leased it to tenants, and went
into another country. 34 When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants
to get his fruit. 35 And the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, amd stoned
another. 36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first. And they did the same to them.
37 Finally he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.' 38 But when the tenants saw
the son, they said to themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.'
39 And they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 When therefore the
owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?" 41 They said to him, "He will put
those wretches to a miserable death and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him
the fruits in their seasons."

42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures:

             "'The stone that the builders rejected
               has become the cornerstone;
             this was the Lord's doing,
               and it is marvelous in our eyes'?

43 Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people
producing its fruits. 44 And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and when it falls
on anyone, it will crush him."

45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he was speaking
about them. 46 And although they were seeking to arrest him, they feared the crowds, because they held
him to be a prophet.
