Psalm 118

1   Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
        for his steadfast love endures forever!

2   Let Israel say,
        "His steadfast love endures forever."
3   Let the house of Aaron say,
       "His steadfast love endures forever."
4   Let those who fear the Lord say,
       "His steadfast love endures forever."

5   Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
       the Lord answered me and set me free.
6   The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
       What can man do to me?
7   The Lord is on my side as my helper;
       I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

8   It is better to take refuge in the Lord
       than to trust in man.
9   It is better to take refuge in the Lord
       than to trust in princes.

10  All nations surrounded me;
       in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
11  They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side;
       in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
12  They surrounded me like bees;
       they went out like a fire among thorns;
        in the name of the Lord I cut them off!

13  I was pushed hard, so that I was falling,
       but the Lord helped me.

14  The Lord is my strength and my song;
       he has become my salvation.
15  Glad songs of salvation
       are in the tents of the righteous:
     "The right hand of the Lord does valiantly,
16    the right hand of the Lord exalts,
       the right hand of the Lord does valiantly!"

17  I shall not die, but I shall live,
       and recount the deeds of the Lord.
18  The Lord has disciplined me severely,
       but he has not given me over to death.

19  Open to me the gates of righteousness,
       that I may enter through them
       and give thanks to the Lord.
20  This is the gate of the Lord;
       the righteous shall enter through it.
21  I thank you that you have answered me
       and have become my salvation.
22  The stone that the builders rejected
       has become the cornerstone.
23  This is the Lord's doing;
       it is marvelous in our eyes.
24  This is the day that the Lord has made;
       let us rejoice and be glad in it.

25  Save us, we pray, O Lord!
       O Lord, we pray, give us success!

26  Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
       We bless you from the house of the Lord.
27  The Lord is God,
       and he has made his light to shine upon us.
     Bind the festal sacrifice with cords,
       up to the horns of the altar!

28  You are my God, and I will give thanks to you;
       you are my God; I will extol you.
29  Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
       for his steadfast love endures forever!

For He is Good (Psalm 118)

   For he is good, for he is good
   His steadfast love endures forever
   For he is good, for he is good
   His steadfast love endures forever

   O give thanks to the Lord (4x)

   Repeat Chorus

(Leader): Let all the women say
(Ladies): "His steadfast love endures forever!"
(Leader): Let all the men-folk say
(Men): "His steadfast love endures forever!"
(Leader): Let those who fear the Lord say
(All): "His steadfast love endures forever!"

   Repeat Chorus

Come Ye Thankful People, Come

Come ye thankful people come
Raise the song of harvest home
All is safely gathered in
Ere the winter storms begin

God our Maker doth provide
For our wants to be supplied
Come to God's own temple come
Raise the song of harvest home

All the world is God's own field
Fruit unto his praise to yield
Wheat and tares together sown
Unto joy or sorrow grown

First the blade and then the ear
Then the full corn shall appear
Lord of harvest grant that we
Wholesome grain and pure may be

Even so Lord quickly come
To Thy final harvest home
Gather Thou Thy people in
Free from sorrow free from sin

There forever purified
In Thy presence to abide
Come with all Thine angels come
Raise the glorious harvest home

Thank You for Your Blessings

   Lord I just want to thank you for your blessings
   You have been so very good to me
   Lord I just want to thank you for your blessings
   And never let them slip my memory

Though sometimes you know I seem ungrateful
For the things that you have done for me
I just want to stop right now and thank you, Lord
For the blessings that I can and cannot see

   Chorus

The smiling eyes of a tiny baby
A home that's filled with love
Oh, I just want to stop right now and thank you, Lord
I could never thank you enough

   Chorus

I look outside, a brand new day is dawning
Once again you've let me breathe and wake
Oh, I just want to stop right now and thank you, Lord
For giving me the joy of one more day

   Chorus

How Great Thou Art

Oh Lord my God
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worrks thy hands have made
I see the stars
I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

   Then sings my soul
   My Savior, God, to Thee
   How great Thou art
   How great Thou art
   Then sings my soul
   My Savior, God, to Thee
   How great Thou art
   How great Thou art

When through the woods
And forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook
And feel the gentle breeze

   Chorus

And when I think
Of God his Son not sparing
Sent him to die
I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

   Chorus

When Christ shall come
With shout of acclamation
And take me home
What joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow
With humble adoration
And then proclaim "My God how great Thou art"

   Chorus

The Feast and the King's Invitation
The World's True King: A Study in Matthew

Matthew 22:1-14
Steve Gilbertson

Soon we will gather with family and friends for a Thanksgiving Feast. Good food, good
friends, good times. But how would we feel if the friends or family who said they'd come
fail to show up at the last minute? And how would we feel if some who did come came
entirely unkempt, or filled with contempt? Jesus says this is exactly what the religious
folks of his day were doing with his kingdom invitation. Moreover, he warns all of us to
guard against making the same mistakes they did.

Matthew 22:1-14

22 And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying, 2 "The kingdom of heaven may be
compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son, 3 and sent his servants to call those
who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come. 4 Again he sent other servants,
saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves
have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast."' 5 But they paid no
attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business, 6 while the rest seized his servants,
treated them shamefully, amd killed them. 7 The king was angry, and he sent his troops and
destroyed those murderers and burned their city. 8 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding feast
is ready, but those invited were not worthy. 9 Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the
wedding feast as many as you find.' 10 And those servants went out into the roads and gathered
all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.

11 "But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment.
12 And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.
13 Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In
that place there will be weeping and gnahing of teeth.' 14 For many are called, but few are chosen."

Isaiah 25:6-9

6  On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples
      a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine,
      of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined.
7  And he will swallow up on this mountain
      the covering that is cast over all peoples,
      the veil that is spread over all nations.
8     He will swallow up death forever;
   and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces,
      and the repraoach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
      for the Lord has spoken.
9  It will be said on that day,
      "Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us.
      This is the Lord; we have waited for him;
      let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation."

Revelation 19:9

9 And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of
the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are the true words of God."
