   Called to Faith, Gathered in Love,
   Sent with Hope – ecclesia!

Psalm 92

1   It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
        to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
2   to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
       and your faithfulness by night,
3   to the music of the lute and the harp,
       to the melody of the lyre.
4   For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;
       at the works of your hands I sing for joy.

5   How great are your works, O Lord!
       Your thoughts are very deep!
6   The stupid man cannot know;
       the fool cannot understand this:
7   that though the wicked sprout like grass
       and all evildoers flourish,
     they are doomed to destruction forever;
8   but you, O Lord, are on high forever.
9   For behold, your enemies, O Lord,
       for behold, your enemies shall perish;
        all evildoers shall be scattered.

10  But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox;
       you have poured over me fresh oil.
11  My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies;
       my ears have heard the doo of my evil assailants.

12  The righteous flourish like the palm tree
       and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13  They are planted in the house of the Lord;

       they flourish in the courts of our God.
14  They still bear fruit in old age;
       they are ever full of sap and green,
15  to declare that the Lord is upright;
       he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Ain't No Grave

O my Lord, it's a winding road
It's all bent from a heavy load
Feel the weight beneath the ground
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

O my Lord, I can barely sing
Waiting for you and your reckoning
Angels humming, can you hear the sound
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

   I will rise, I will rise, I will rise, I will rise
   Troubles come for everyone
   Death has no respect for love
   Roll that stone I won't be found
   Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

Lord, I'm crooked from head to toe
Got dirty hands and a dirty soul
I was lost but now I'm found
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

Woah, Woah, Woah
Feel the weight beneath the ground
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

Woah, Woah, Woah
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

I've Been Changed

Well, I've been to the river, I've been baptized
I've been washed in the blood of the lamb
I've been changed from the creature that once I was
And "Redeemed" is now my name

   I've been changed
   I've been "new-born"
   All my life has been rearranged
   What a diff'rence it made
   When the Lord came and stayed in my heart
   Oh, yes, I've been changed

Though my sins were as scarlet, they're white as snow
I was bound, but today I am free
I was lost in darkness, but now am found
I was blind but now I see

Like the poor Hebrew children, I wandered along
In a bare desert land to and fro
But I've crossed over Jordan to Canaan's land
Where the milk and honey flow

When at last in his presence I stand alone
He will wipe all the tears from my eyes
And I'll thank him for giving a wretch like me
Lasting hope beyond the skies

Raise a Hallelujah

I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah, heaven comes to fight for me

   I'm gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
   Louder and louder, you're gonna hear my praises roar
   Up from the ashes, hope will arise
   Death is defeated, the King is alive!

I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me
I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me!

Sing a little louder (In the presence of my enemies)
Sing a little louder (Louder than the unbelief)
Sing a little louder (My weapon is a melody)
Sing a little louder (Heaven comes to fight for me)
Sing a little louder!

Woes and a Wail
Matthew 23:13-39
The World's True King: A Study in Matthew
Steve Gilbertson

After three years proclaiming the arrival of God's Kingdom, and calling people to
"repent and believe the good news," Jesus knows his ministry has reached its climax.
He will be crucified, thus fulfilling his role as the suffering Messiah whose death
brings new life, first for himself, and then for the world. In this, his last public speech,
Jesus' heart overflows with emotion - heartbroken by the faithlessness of Israel's leaders,
and the stubbornness of the nation as a whole.

Matthew 23:13-39

13 "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in
people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.
14 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows' houses and for a
pretense you make long prayers; therefore you will receive the greater condemnation.
15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make
a single proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.

16 "Woe to you, blind guides, who say, 'If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if
anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.' 17 You blind fools! For which
is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred? 18 And you say, 'If anyone
swears by the altar, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gift that is on the altar, he is bound
by his oath.' 19 You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred?
20 So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21 And whoever swears by
the temple swears by it and by him who dwells in it. 22 And whoever swears by heaven swears by
the throne of God and by him, who sits upon it."

23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have
neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to
have done, without neglecting the others. 24 You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a

25 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate,
but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of
the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

27 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly
appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness. 28 So you also outwardly
appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocirsy and lawlessness.

29 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate
the monuments of the righteous, 30 saying, 'If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have
taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' 31 Thus you witness against yourselves that
you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. 33 You
serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell? 34 Therefore I send you
prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in
your synagogues and persecute from town to town, 35 so that on you may come all the righteous blood
shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom
you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. 36 Truly, I say to you, all these things will come
upon this generation.

37 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How
often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wiings, and you
were note willing! 38 See, your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again,
until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
