Psalm 118

1   Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
        for his steadfast love endures forever!

2   Let Israel say,
        "His steadfast love endures forever."
3   Let the house of Aaron say,
       "His steadfast love endures forever."
4   Let those who fear the Lord say,
       "His steadfast love endures forever."

5   Out of my distress I called on the Lord;
       the Lord answered me and set me free.
6   The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
        What can man do to me?
7   The Lord is on my side as my helper;
        I shall look in triumph on those who hate me.

8   It is better to take refuge in the Lord
        than to trust in man.
9   It is better to take refuge in the Lord
        than to trust in princes.

10  All nations surrounded me;
        in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
11  They surrounded me, surrounded me on every side;
        in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
12  They surrounded me like bees;
        they went out like a fire among thorns;
        in the name of the Lord I cut them off!
13  I was pushed hard, so that I was falling,
        but the Lord helped me.

14  The Lord is my strength and my song;
        he has become my salvation.
15  Glad songs of salvation
        are in the tents of the righteous:
     "The right hand of the Lord does valiantly,
16     the right hand of the Lord exalts,
        the right hand of the Lord does valiantly!"

17  I shall not die, but I shall live,
        and recount the deeds of the Lord.
18  The Lord has disciplined me severely,
        but he has not given me over to death.

19  Open to me the gates of righteousness,
        that I may enter through them
        and give thanks to the Lord.
20  This is the gate of the Lord;
        the righteous shall enter through it.
21  I thank you that you have answered me
        and have become my salvation.
22  The stone that the builders rejected
        has become the cornerstone.
23  This is the Lord's doing;
        it is marvelous in our eyes.
24  This is the day that the Lord has made;
        let us rejoice and be glad in it.

25  Save us, we pray, O Lord!
        O Lord, we pray, give us success!

26  Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
        We bless you from the house of the Lord.
27  The Lord is God,
        and he has made his light to shine upon us.
     Bind the festal sacrifice with cords,
        up to the horns of the altar!

28  You are my God, and I will give thanks to you;
        you are my God; I will extol you.
29  Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
        for his steadfast love endures forever!

God so Loved the World

Come all you weary, come all you thirsty
Come to the well that never runs dry
Drink of the water, come and thirst no more

Come all you sinners, come find his mercy
Come to the table, he will satisfy
Taste of his goodness, find what you're looking for

   For God so loved the world that he gave us
   His one and only Son to save us
   Whoever believes in him will live forever

Bring all your failures, bring your addictions
Come lay them down at the foot of the cross
Jesus is waiting there with open arms (see his open arms)

   Chorus

   The power of hell forever defeated
   Now it is well, I'm walking in freedom
   For God so loved, God so loved the world

Praise God, praise God
From whom all blessings flow
Praise him, praise him
For the wonders of his love
(repeat)

For God so loved the world that he gave us
His one and only Son to save

   Chorus

   The power of hell forever defeated
   Now it is well, I'm walking in freedom
   For God so loved, God so loved the world

Bring all your failures, bring your addictions
Come lay them down at the foot of thecross
Jesus is waiting
God so loved the world

Ain't No Grave (Gonna Hold My Body Down)

   There ain't no grave can hold my body down
   There ain't no grave can hold my body down
   When I hear that trumpet sound
   I'm gonna rise right out of the ground
   Ain't no grave can hold my body down

Well, look down yonder, Gabriel
Put your feet on land and sea
But Gabriel, don't you blow your trumpet 'til you hear it from me
Well, look way down the river
What do you think I see
I see a band of angels, and they're coming after me

   Chorus

Well, meet me, Jesus, meet me

Meet me in the air
And if these wings don't fail me
I will meet you anywhere
I'm going down to the river of Jordan
Bury my knees beneath the sane
Gonna holler high hosanna 'till I see that promised land

   Chorus

Well, look way down the river
What do you think I see
I see a band of angels, and they're coming after me

   Chorus

In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

   What heights of love, what depths of peace
   When fears are still, when strivings cease
   My Comforter, my All in All
   Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save

   'Til on that cross as Jesus died
   The wrath of God was satisfied
   For every sin on him was laid
   Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground his body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave he rose again

   And as he stands in victory
   Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
   For I am his and he is mine
   Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny

   No power of hell, no scheme of man
   Could ever pluck me from his hand
   'Til he returns or calls me home
   Here in the power of Christ I stand

Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind, but now I see

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

   My chains are gone, I've been set free
   Jesus my Savior rescued me
   He shut the door on death and the grave
   Unending love, Amazing Grace

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home

When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Then when we first begun

   Chorus

When Jesus Prayed for Us
John 17
Jesus' Last Evening
Steve Gilbertson

John 17

For the last few weeks, we've been listening in on Jesus' last coversation with his disciples
before his crucifixion. We'll listen in on Jesus again today. But this time it will be his prayer
to the Father just before his betrayal in the Garden. Guess what? Jesus prayed for us in

this prayer! Let's hear what he had to say, and think how it might apply to us as we celebrate
our tenth birthday as Church at the Chip.

17 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, "Father, the hour
has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2 since you have given him authority over
all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they
know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4 I glorified you on earth, having
accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence
with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

6 "I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were,
and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you
have given me is from you. 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have
received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that
you sent me. 9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have
given me, for they are yours. 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.
11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father,
keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. 12 While
I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not
one
of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now
am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I
am not of the world, 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the
evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your
word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I
consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

20 "I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they
may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world
may believe that you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they
may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that
the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they
also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because
you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not
know
you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26 I made known to them your name, and I
will
continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them."

Come As You Are

Come out of sadness from wherever you've been
Come, brokenhearted let rescue begin
Come find your mercy, O sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal

   Lay down your burdens
   Lay down your shame
   All who are broken
   Lift up your face
   O wanderer, come home
   You're not too far
   So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart
   Come as you are

There's hope for the hopeless
And all those who've strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste his grace
There's rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't cure (to chorus) ... So ...

   Chorus

Come as you are
Come as you are
Fall in his arms
Come as you are

There's joy for the morning
O sinner, be still
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal
Earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal

   Chorus

The Eucharist (Holy Communion)

We conclude our worship with moments of worship and reflection.
We invite you to share in the Lord's Supper during the final song,
open to all who follow Jesus.
