Psalm 113

1   Praise the Lord!
Praise, O servants of the Lord,
praise the name of the Lord!
2   Blessed be the name of the Lord
from this time forth and forevermore!
3   From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the Lord is to be praised!
4   The Lord is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens!

5   Who is like the Lord our God,
       who is seated on high,
6   who looks far down
on the heavens and the earth?
7   He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
8   to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9   He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
     Praise the Lord!

My Beloved

My Beloved, bring me awake
Take me up to your resurrection place

My Beloved, bring me awake
'Cause I want to feel your light on my face

There's a sun coming up in my soul, Lord, in my soul
There's a sun coming up in my soul, Lord, in my soul
(Repeat all above)

I see the light, I see the light
I see the light, I see the light

Oh thank you God, I see the light

My Beloved, bring me away
Over Jordan and out of this place

My Beloved, for you I wait
With you here 'til forever face to face

There's a sun coming up in my soul, Lord, in my soul
There's a sun coming up in my soul, Lord, in my soul

   Chorus

No more sorrow, no more pain
No more darkness weighing down on me

No longer blind, now I can see
Forever light, forever free...

Forever light, forever light
Forever light, forever light
I see the light, I see the light
I see the light, I see the light
Oh, thank you, God I see the light

I see the light, I see the light
I see the light, I see the light
Oh, thank you, God, oh thank you God
I see the light

I Can't Even Walk

I thought number one would surely be me
I thought I could be what I wanted to be

I thought I could build on life's sinking sand
But now I can't even walk without you holding my hand

Oh Lord, I can't even walk without you holding my hand
The mountains too high and the valleys too wide

Down on my knees that's where I learned to stand
Oh Lord, I can't even walk without you holding my hand

I thought I could do a lot on my own
I thought I could make it all alone

I thought of myself as a ighty big man
But Lord I can't even walk without you holding my hand

   Chorus

I think I'll make Jesus my all and all
And if I'm in trouble on his name I'll call
If I didn't trust him, I'd be less of a man
'Cause Lord I can't even walk without you holding my hand

   Chorus

Oh Lord, I can't even walk without you holding my hand

Lord I Need You

Lord I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest

Without you, I fall apart
You're the one that guides my heart

Lord, I need you, oh I need you
   Every hour I need you

   My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need you

Where sin runs deep, your grace is more
Where grace is found is where you are

And where you are Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
And where you are Lord I am free

Holiness is Christ in me

   Chorus

So teach my song to rise to you
When themptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on you
Jesus you're my hope and stay
And when I cannot stand I'll fall on you

Jesus you're my hope and stay

As Their Fathers Did, So They Do
2 Kings 17:33-41
Steve Gilbertson

"These nations feared the Lord and also served their carved images. Their children did likewise,
and their children's children - as their fathers did, so they do to this day." Like the epitaph on an
ancient gravestone, these words describe the demise of Israel in 722 B.C. On this Father's Day, let
us - especially we who are Dads - determine that the same words could not be written about us.

2 Kings 17:33-41

7 And this occurred because the people of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, who had
brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had
feared other gods 8 and walked in the customs of the nations whom the Lord drove out before the
people of Israel, and in the customs that the kings of Israel had practiced...

15 They despised his statutes and his covenant that he made with their fathers and the warnings that
he gave them. They went after false idols and became false, and they followed the nations that were
around them, concerning whom the Lord had commanded them that they should not do like them. 16 And
they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made for themselves metal images of
two calves; and they made an Asherah and worshiped all the host of heaven and served Baal...

33 So they feared the Lord but also served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among
whom they had been carried away.

34 To this day they do according to the former manner. They do not fear the Lord, and they do not follow
the statutes or the rules or the law or the commandement that the Lord commanded the children of Jacob,
whom he named Israel. 35 The Lord made a covenant with them and commanded them, "You shall not fear
other gods or bow yourselves to them or serve them or sacrifice to them, 36 but you shall fear the Lord, who
brought you out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm. You shall bow yourselves
to him, and to him you shall sacrifice. 37 And the statutes and the rules and the law and the commandment
that he wrote for you, you shall always be careful to do. You shall not fear other gods, 38 and you shall not
forget the covenant that I have made with you. You shall not fear other gods, 39 but you shall fear the Lord
your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies." 40 However, they would not listen, but
they did according to their former manner.

41 So these nations feared the Lord and also served their carved images. Their children did likewise, and their
children's children-as their fathers did, so they do to this day.

18 In the third year of Hoshea son of Elah, king of Israel, Hezekiah the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to
reign. 2 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem.
His mother's name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah. 3 And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord,
according to all that David his father had done. 4 He removed the high places and broke the pillars and cut down
the Asherah. And he broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the people
of Israel had made offerings to it (it was called Nehushtan). 5 He trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel, so that
there was none like him among all the kings of Judah after him, nor among those who were before him. 6 For
he held fast to the Lord. He did not depart from following him, but kept the commandments that the Lord
commanded Moses. 7 And the Lord was with him; wherever he went out, he prospered. He rebelled against
the king of Assyria and would not serve him. 8 He struck down the Philistines as far as Gaza and its territory,
from watchtower to fortified city.
