ecclesia song

We are called to faith, gathered in love
Sent with hope to change the world
We are called to faith, gathered in love
ecclesia, ecclesia, Church at the Chip

Called to Faith, Gathered in Love,
   Sent with Hope – ecclesia!

Psalm 127

1   Unless the Lord builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
2   It is in vain that you rise up early
        and go late to rest,
     eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep.

3   Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
4   Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth.

5   Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

Lift Your Voice, Bow Your Head

When the world has let you down
Seems a friend just can't be found
When you're lost and far from home
Know you're never all alone

Lift your voice, bow your head
Let not one word go unsaid
Give it to the Lord instead
Lift your voice, bow your head

Simple words are all you need
For his love is guaranteed
Though your voice be still and small
He will hear you when you call

   Chorus

If you take the time to pray
Through his grace you'll find your way
He will dry each tear you send
Lift you voice, bow your head

   Chorus

Open the Eyes of My Heart

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
   I want to see you
   I want to see you
   (repeat)

To see you high and lifted up
Shining in the light of your glory
Pour out your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy

   Chorus (2x)

To see you high and lifted up
Shining in the light of your glory
Pour out your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy
(3x)

Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
I want to see you
(repeat)

Chorus

Raise a Hallelujah

I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah, heaven comes to fight for me

I'm gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you're gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive

I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me

I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me

   Chorus

Sing a little louder (In the presence of my enemies)
Sing a little louder (Louder than the unbelief)
Sing a little louder (My weapon is a melody)
Sing a little louder (Heaven comes to fight for me)
(repeat)
Sing a little louder!

   Chorus

I Will Follow

When the sea is calm and all is right
When I feel your favor flood my life
Even in the good, I'll follow you
Even in the good, I'll follow you

When the boat is tossed upon the waves
When I wonder if you'll keep me safe
Even in the storms, I'll follow you
Even in the storms, I'll follow you

I believe everything that you say you are
I believe that I have seen your unchanging heart
In the good things and in the hardest part
I believe and I will follow you
I believe and I will follow you

When I see the wicked prospering

When I feel I have no voice to sing
Even in the want, I'll follow you
Even in the want, I'll follow you

   Chorus

When I find myself so far from home
And you lead me somewhere I don't wanna go
Even in my death, I'll follow you
Even in my death, I'll follow you
When I come to end this race I've run
And I receive the prize that Christ has won
I will be with you in paradise
I will be with you in paradise

   Chorus (2x)

Betraying Innocent Blood
Matthew 27:1-10
The World's True King: A Study in Matthew

Steve Gilbertson

As Jesus walks inexorably toward the Cross, Matthew contrasts his faithfulness to
the faithlessness of a wide variety of characters. We saw Peter and his denial of
Jesus last week. Now we see Judas and the tragic consequences of his betrayal. But
there is more betrayal here than first meets the eye....

Matthew 27:1-10 (ESV)

27 When morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel
against Jesus to put him to death. 2 And they bound him and led him away and delivered
him over to Pilate the governor.

3 Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and
brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, 4 saying, "I have
sinned by betraying innocent blood." They said, "What is that to us? See to it yourself." 5 And
throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged
himself. 6 But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, "It is not lawful to put them
into the treasury, since it is blood money." 7 So they took counsel and bought with them the
potter's field as a burial place for strangers. 8 Therefore that field has been called the Field
of Blood to this day. 9 Then was fulfilled what had been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah,
saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him on whom a price had been
set by some of the sons of Israel, 10 and they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord
directed me."
