We are called to faith, gathered in love
Sent with hope to change the world
We are called to faith, gathered in love

   Sent with Hope – ecclesia!

Psalm 135

1   Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord,
give praise, O servants of the Lord,
2   who stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God!
3   Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing to his name, for it is pleasant!
4   For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself,
       Israel as his own possession.

5   For I know that the Lord is great,
and that our Lord is above all gods.
6   Whatever the Lord pleases, he does,
       in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and all deeps.
7   He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth,
who makes lightnings for the rain
and brings forth the wind from his storehouses.

8   He it was who struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
       both of man and of beast;
9   who in your midst, O Egypt,
       sent signs and wonders
       against Pharaoh and all his servants;
10   who struck down many nations
       and killed mighty kings,
11   Sihon, king of the Amorites,
       and Og, king of Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan,
12   and gave their land as a heritage,
a heritage to his people Israel.

13   Your name, O Lord, endures forever,
your renown, O Lord, throughout all ages.
14   For the Lord will vindicate his people
and have compassion on his servants.

15   The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
       the work of human hands.
16   They have mouths, but do not speak;
       they have eyes, but do not see;
17   they have ears, but do not hear,
nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18   Those who make them become like them,
so do all who trust in them.

19   Oh house of Israel, bless the Lord!
O house of Aaron, bless the Lord!
20   O house of Levi, bless the Lord!
You who fear the Lord, bless the Lord!
21   Blessed be the Lord from Zion,
       he who dwells in Jerusalem!
     Praise the Lord!

I've Been Changed

Well, I've been to the river, I've been baptized
I've been washed in the blood of the lamb
I've been changed from the creature that once I was
And Redeemed is now my name

   I've been changed
   I've been new-born
All my life has been rearranged
   What a difference it made
When the Lord came and stayed in my heart
   Oh, yes, I've been changed

Though my sins were as scarlet they're white as snow
I was bound, but today I am free
I was lost in darkness, but now am found
I was blind but now I see

   Chorus

Like the poor Hebrew children, I wandered along
In a bare desert land to and fro
But I've crossed over Jordan to Canaan's land
Where the milk and honey flow

   Chorus

When at last in his presence I stand alone
He will wipe all the tears from my eyes
And I'll thank him for giving a wretch like me
Lasting hope beyond the skies

   Chorus

Only a Holy God

Who else commands all the hosts of heaven
Who else could make every king bow down
Who else can whisper and darkness trembles
Only a Holy God

What other beauty demands such praises
What other splendor outshines the sun
What other majesty rules with justice
Only a Holy God

   Come and behold him
   The One and the Only
   Cry out, sing holy
   Forever a Holy God
Come and worship the Holy God

What other glory consumes like fire
What other power can raise the dead
What other name remains undefeated
Only a Holy God

   Chorus

Who else could rescue me from my failing
Who else would offer his only Son
Who else invites me to call him Father
Only a Holy God
Only my Holy God

   Chorus

We are a Family

We are a family, for Christ has made us One
His blood is flowing through our veins
We are sisters and brothers, daughters and sons

When one of us is hurting, the rest all share the pain
When another is rejoicing, there is singing and shouting
Celebration reigns!

There is in us a unity which cannot be destroyed
In Christ we have become a family

   Chorus

You are my brother, though I do not know your name
You are my sister, though you speak a different language
And we don't even look the same

You are my mother, come and comfort me again
You are my father, won't you offer me forgiveness
And help me to find grace again

There is in us a unity which cannot be destroyed
In Christ we have become a family

We are a family, for Christ has made us One
His blood is flowing through our veins
   We are sisters and brothers
   Fathers and mothers
   Daughters and sons
   Hmmm ... Amen
   Hmmm ... Amen

Colossians 3:12-17

'Tis the season of Thanksgiving - and family, and food, and football, and
Black Friday. In the midst of what was once a simple family gathering, how
can we ensure that our Thanksgiving is more than just a few words and a
prayer before our annual feast? How can our Thanksgiving become
ThanksLiving?

Colossians 3:12-17 (ESV)

12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts,
kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if
one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven
you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds
everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your
hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word
of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom,
singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him.
