We are called to faith, gathered in love
Sent with hope to change the world
We are called to faith, gathered in love

Called to Faith, Gathered in Love,
   Sent with Hope – ecclesia!

Psalm 146

1   Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
2   I will praise the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

3   Put not your trust in princes,
in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.
4   When his breath departs, he returns to the earth;
on that very day his plans perish.

5   Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6   who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them,
    who keeps faith forever;
7      who executes justices for the oppressed,
and gives food to the hungry.

    The Lord sets the prisoners free;
8      the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
    The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
        the Lord loves the righteous.
9  The Lord watches over the sojourners;
he upholds the widow and the fatherless,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

10 The Lord will reign forever,
your God, O Zion, to all generations.
    Praise the Lord!

Welcome Table

I'm gonna sit at the welcome table
I'm gonna sit at the welcome table one of these days
I'm gonna sit at the welcome table
Sit at the welcome table one of these days, one of these days

I'm gonna feast on milk and honey
I'm gonna feast on milk and honey one of these days
I'm gonna feast on milk and honey
Gonna feast on milk and honey one of these days

   Chorus

All God's children gonna sit together
All God's children gonna sit together one of these days, hallelujah
All God's children gonna sit together
All of God's children gonna sit together one of these days, one of these days

   Chorus

Ain't No Grave

O my Lord, it's a winding road
It's all bent from a heavy load
Feel the weight beneath the ground
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

O my Lord, I can barely sing
Waiting for you and your reckoning
Angels humming, can you hear the sound
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

I will rise, I will rise, I will rise, I will rise
   Troubles come for everyone
Death has no respect for love
Roll that stone I won't be found
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

Lord, I'm crooked from head to toe
Got dirty hands and a dirty soul
I was lost but now I'm found
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

   Chorus

Woah, Woah, Woah
Feel the weight beneath the ground
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

   Chorus

Woah, Woah, Woah
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down
Ain't no grave gonna hold me down

We are a Family

We are a family, for Christ has made us one
His blood is flowing through our veins
We are sisters and brothers, daughters and sons

When one of us is hurting, the rest all share the pain
When another is rejoicing, there is singing and shouting -- celebration reigns!
There is in us a unity which cannot be destroyed
In Christ we have become a family

   Chorus

You are my brother, though I do not know your name
You are my sister, though you speak a different language
And we don't even look the same
There is in us a unity which cannot be destroyed
In Christ we have become a family

   Chorus

You are my mother, come and comfort me again
You are my father, won't you offer me forgiveness
And help me to find grace again
There is in us a unity which cannot be destroyed
In Christ we have become a family

   Chorus

Hmmm...Amen

The Gospel and the Table
The Gospel Changes Everything: A Study in Galatians #5
Galatians 2:11-21
Steve Gilbertson

Today we move toward the first great climax of Galatians: "Justification by Faith."
This doctrine was at the heart of the Reformation, a 16th century movement which
fundamentally altered the landscape of Christianity. It is an essential teaching of
the church; we will explore it in detail next week. For now, by way of introduction,
we ask the question, "What is the connection between Paul's emphasis on 'one family
at the table,' and 'one faith in Jesus Christ?'"

Galatians 2:11-21 (ESV)

11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned.
12 For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they
came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party. 13 And the rest of
the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their
hypocrisy. 14 But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I
said to Cephas before them all, "If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how
can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?"

15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16 yet we know that a person is not
justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ
Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of
the law no one will be justified.

17 But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then
a servant of sin? Certainly not! 18 For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor.
19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with
Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live
by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not nullify the grace of God,
for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
