From This Valley
Oh the desert dreams of a river
That will run down to the sea
Like my heart longs for an ocean
To wash down over me
Oh won't you take me from this valley
To that mountain high above
Oh I will pray, pray, pray till I see your smiling face
I will pray, pray, pray to the one I love
Oh the outcast dreams of acceptance
Just to find pure love's embrace
Like an orphan longs for its mother
May you hold me in your grace
Chorus
Ooh- Oh, Oh, Oh
Oh, Oh, Oh, - Oh, Oh, Oh (2x)
Oh the caged bird dreams of a strong wind
That will flow 'neath her wings
Like a voice longs for a melody
Oh Jesus, carry me
Chorus
Oh I will pray, pray, pray
Until I see your smiling face
I will pray, pray, pray
To the one I love
As It Is In Heaven
Our Father Who art in Heaven
Hallowed by Thy name
Come and let Your glory come
And let Your glory fall
Our Father Who art in Heaven
The rocks cry out Your fame
Come and let Your glory come
And let Your glory fall
I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song
To the Lord
Let Your Kingdom come
Let Your will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven
Ev'ry heart proclaim
The mercy of Your name
On earth as it is in Heaven
God give us new ev'ry morning
Mercy as daily bread
In the name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus we pray
And lead us not to temptation
But deliver us with Your hand
In the name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus we pray
Father we pray
Chorus
For the Kingdom is Yours
And the power is Yours
And the glory forever Amen
(Repeat)
Let Your Kingdom come
Let Your will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven
Ev'ry heart proclaim
The mercy of Your name
On earth as it is in Heaven
Come As You Are
Come out of sadness from wherever you've been
Come broken-hearted let rescue begin
Come find your mercy, O sinner, come kneel
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal
Lay down your burdens, lay down your shame
All who are broken, lift up your face
O wanderer come home
You're not too far
So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart
Come as you are
There's hope for the hopeless
And all those who've strayed
Come sit at the table, come taste the grace
There's rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't cure (to chorus) ...So...
Chorus
Come as you are
Come as you are
Fall in his arms
Come as you are
There's joy for the morning
O sinner, be still
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal
Chorus
The Law and the Promise
The Gospel Changes Everything: A Study in Galatians #9
Galatians 3:15-29
Steve Gilbertson
Paul continues to teach that the Law of Moses was a temporary guardian until the
promise given to Abraham was fulfilled by Jesus Christ. Having fulfilled its purpose,
the Law's ceremonial markers (circumcision, etc.) were no longer necessary. The new
marker was faith: Faith in the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. Everyone is welcome at the
table, "for you are all one in Christ Jesus." We are all "Abraham's offspring, heirs
according to promise."
Galatians 3:15-29 (ESV)
15 To give a human example, brothers: even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it
or adds to it once it has been ratified. 16 Now the promises were made to Abraham and to
his offspring. It does not say, "And to offsprings," referring to many, but referring to one,
"And to your offspring," who is Christ. 17 This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years
afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise
void. 18 For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave
it to Abraham by a promise.
19 Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come
to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary.
20 Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one.
21 Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given
that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. 22 But the Scripture improsined
everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who
believe.
23 Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith
would be revealed. 24 So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might
be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, 26 for in
Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into
Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there
is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ's, then you are
Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise.
